The Leica PowerTracker X 3″ Robotic Station is a high-precision, motorised total station engineered for robust machine-control, stake-out and construction-survey applications. It delivers an angular accuracy of 3″ (1 mgon) under ISO 17123-3 conditions, combining Leica’s advanced angle-measuring technology, automatic target-tracking, and optional remote-control functionality.

Built for the demanding construction and surveying environment, the PowerTracker X supports rapid prism-search, automatic fine-pointing (ATR), a dual-axis compensator, and a durable design suited to field conditions

Key Features

Accuracy & Angle Measurement

• Angular accuracy: 3″ (standard deviation per ISO 17123-3) for both horizontal and vertical axes. 
• Display resolution: 0.1″ (0.5 mgon). 
• Absolute, continuous, diametrical angle measurement using a line-coded glass circle read by a linear CCD array — eliminating the need for frequent instrument re-initialisation. 
• Dual-axis electronic compensator with a working tilt range of up to 4′ (~0.07 gon) to correct for instrument mis-leveled conditions. Setting accuracy: approx. 1.0″ (0.3 mgon) for the X model. 

Distance Measurement (EDM) & Tracking

• IR-Mode (reflector prism): The instrument uses infrared laser phase-measurement technology for prism-based distance measurements. 
• Range to standard prism (GPR1) approx. 1,800 m (with higher ranges available depending on model and conditions) for the PowerTracker family.
• For 360° prisms (e.g., GRZ4): ranges up to ~800 m in standard configuration. 
• The instrument supports the motorised drives and ATR (Automatic Target Recognition) for rapid lock-on and tracking of prisms/reflectors — key for robotic or one-man operation.

Robotic / Automated Operation

• Motorised drives (horizontal & vertical) enable the instrument to automatically slew and engage reflectors/prisms under remote-control or robotic mode.
• Support for “PowerSearch” technology (rapid rotating laser fan that hunts for the prism) is available in the PowerTracker family — enabling quick initial prism acquisition. 
• Designed for machine-control and one-man robotic workflows (meaning a single operator can handle instrument + prism-pole).
